Textbooks are outrageous!! They are poorly written, rarely read, and horribly expensive. I'm switching my educational psychology class to this online text.

This is an online journal about using literature with adolescents. It is so important to keep older kids reading.

This is a really wonderful site for exploring some physics concept. There's a little girl who comes to my house who thinks it's a game!

Mantle of the Expert is a concept developed by a great teacher, Dorothy Heathcote. This website has oodles of resources for learning to teach using improvisatory drama that covers the curriculum and keeps students engaged. I was delighted to find this as I have known about this type of drama for years but wanted to implement it in my teaching.

This is a wonderful bicycle ride for anyone in the Central Ohio area. It's two days, 210 miles, and they feed you approximately every 25 miles. It's not a race--just a great couple of days to spend with other folks who love bicycles.

Along with bluegrass, I love country music from the 1950's and 1960's. There is a certain sound there that has been since lost. Here is a great song by a great performer of that time. Interestingly enough, this song was written by Shel Silverstein.

Among other things, I teach how to combine the arts with the regular curriculum. Here is a great website for teaching students how to create tessellations, which is both math and art. M.C. Escher based a lot of his work on tessellations.

Good ol' Woody Guthrie singing about the Dust Bowl. Traditional 12 bar blues verse structure.
