This article was written by a good friend of mine. It is so important to reach students and to help them to connect with learning. That is the only way we are going to begin to solve current problems such as violence in the schools and gangs on the streets. Edna Thomas has the same commitment.

I wrote this because I have struggled with trying to find a way to get things done without stressing myself out. Well, this is working for me and it might work for others. So, here it is.

Okay, this combines two really fantastic things: Cajun music and the folk festival at Augusta. Davis and Elkins College in the middle of West Virginia has a fantastic festival all summer long where each week is devoted to a different type of music. Cajun, Old Time, Bluegrass, Irish, etc. You learn music during the day and jam all night. The teachers are all people who are real experts in the music--during Cajun week, they bring a lot of folks from Louisiana to be teachers. Anyway, this is a sample from Cajun week--just a taste of a wonderful place and time.

Back when I used to buy vinyl records both new and used, I always looked for the Rounder label. Rounder records has preserved a lot of music that would otherwise have been lost and it focuses on real folk music (that is, music you might hear on someone's real back porch). My favorite Rounder record became a CD: Women's Coal Mining Songs.

My article on "Bad" Christians seems to have hit a chord with some people. I really appreciate the comments it has received and the people who have at least glanced at it. Here is another one, folks. Thanks!!!

Among other things I do, I help people with their writing process. This article explains some of how I do it. I hope it will help other writers.

This is something I wrote about Christians who appear to be hypocrites.
