The Flylady (flylady.net) has influenced me for several years. I have been decluttering my home and learning how to take care of it. In fact, like the Flylady, I have become a radical declutterer!! Here is where decluttering has led me.

Here is a good summary of the importance of becoming Christian and how to do so.

My husband makes furniture and has it on sale in this shop (he makes antique reproductions, colonial/primitive style). The lady who owns this shop, Brenda, is a really wonderful, caring person and we appreciate her commitment to good business practices.

We are to be thankful in all situations. Here's a story of when the reasons to be thankful for something awful became apparent.

I had the honor of meeting Homer Ledford a few times (and I played in an orchestra with one of his daughters). He was a great musician and a really nice person. He is another example of a talented, self-taught musician who was discovered during the "folk era." He came out on stage with a wheelbarrow full of instruments, all of which he would play during a show. He created a number of unique instruments.

Leadbelly was another discovery by the people who sought to preserve various types of home-made music.

There are a lot of stories about self-taught musicians who had to go to some lengths to get to play an instrument, whether it was by making a fiddle out of a cigar box or, in this case, sneaking one's brother's guitar out from under the bed. Elizabeth Cotton's story is also one that reminds us that artistic talent of various sorts may be hiding in plain sight.

Juanita Price was the wisest person I have ever met and I am grateful to God that I got to spend 26 years learning from her. Now that she is gone, I am doing what I can to spread her ideas. We have written so many things together, but they don't seem to have fit into any traditional type of publishing. I am so glad that the web allows everyone access to people's ideas instead of having to go through a publisher whose main concern is making money.

I LOVE wikispaces!! I have introduced them to my students and we have done all sorts of neat things. This is my main wiki page with links to a lot of things I have done with students and also personally.
